Hybrid Robot

Hybrid Robot is a subgenre of science fiction whose origins are from Japan. Technically, a Hybrid Robot is a type of mecha using both principle of Super Robots and Real Robots. It became popular after the success of the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion (created by Hideaki Anno) who needed its own term to explain the Eva which are giant cyborgs piloted by teens.
