The Seven Kingdoms is ruled for fifteen years by King Robert Baratheon. At the time, the mad king (King Aerys II) was killed by Jaime Lannister, his own bodyguard, after a bloody revolt. His only heirs (Viserys and Daenerys Targaryen) fled to a free city beyond the Narrow Sea. To ensure the alliance with the House of Lannister, Robert takes as his Queen the sister of Jaime, Cersei. All was quiet during his reign until Cersei decided to conspire against him to put on the Iron Throne, her eldest son, Joffrey. Because of this coup, the union that binds the seven kingdoms fall apart, and many vassal kings claim the Iron Throne, while in the north of the Wall, a race of supernatural being called the "Others" approach and to the east, Daenerys Targaryen with her newly hatched dragon, intends to return to King's Landing and reclaim her birthright.

The best serie ever (Jun. 21 2011)

Since The Carnivàle (also produced by HBO), I have been hooked by a TV series. Everything is perfect, costumes, story, visual and special effects and acting. I bet this series will win a lot of awards.
