Percy Jackson and the Olympians

Percy Jackson and the Olympians is a series of fantasy novels written by the american author Rick Riordan. It is the story of Percy Jackson, a regular american teenager who grew up in New York, but who one day, finds out that he is the son of the god Poseidon, making of him a demigod. The first novel of the series entitled The Lightning Thief was published in 2005 and was followed by four other novels, The Sea of Monsters in 2006, The Titan's Curse in 2007, The Battle of the Labyrinth in 2008 and The Last Olympian in 2009. In addition to the main story arc, Rick Riordan also published in 2009 The Demigod Files, an anthology collecting three short stories about Percy Jackson and his friends demigods.
Beginning 2010, the first film about the adventures of Percy has been released on theaters. It is an adaptation of the first book and is named Percy Jackson & the olympians : the lightning thief. The film was directed by Chris Columbus and features Logan Lerman in the role of Percy.
